Bankruptcy - Understanding and
Using Your New Banking Rights
Having a bank account for your personal banking is
deemed to be a right that every Canadian should be
able to enjoy.
The Financial Consumer Agency of
Canada has negotiated terms so that every Canadian,
with few exceptions, can open a personal bank account.
Please note that this relates to
a general savings account. The ability to operate a
chequing account is not covered by the Financial Consumer
Agency of Canada.
Questions regarding your banking
rights and the limitation on those rights are contained
on the web page for Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
